My name is Dirk Geerlings. I’m an illustrator and media designer. I have a strong affinity for many forms of art and design but I enjoy illustration more than anything. I graduated as Visual Designer at the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam and am currently studying Illustration and the Utrecht Academy of Arts.

The username ‘Mexnie’ is an alias I use for my work. The idea stems from True Jackson VP, a television show. I liked the  name of the show’s character Max Baxter, but didn’t find out it was spelled with an ‘a’ until later: ‘Mexnie’ is a variation on the character’s name. It’s been my username for more than 10 years.
